I build tools.  Not just tools, but rather precision instruments for musicians.  Like any tool, they are built to perform a task.  While I try to build beautiful instruments I never lose sight of their actual purpose: making music.  A musician plays better and is able to communicate more freely on a finely made instrument.  This is my goal: to enable musicians to play at their best and to reach their audience more effectively.

I draw my inspiration from a number of sources.  Of course I have been influenced by the classic makers of archtop guitars such as D’Angelico, D’Aquisto and Benedetto among others.  However, I’ve also drawn a number of ideas from makers of the violin family of instruments as well as Baroque guitars and lutes.  I see no reason to disregard hundreds of years of experience and tradition.
